Bloom's journey
'Bloom' tells two stories. Two blooms, one name.
The name Bloom was created with intention. 'Bloom' tells two stories at the same time, the transformational fourth trimester stories for both the mother and her newborn(s).
First is the story of the mother. In the early weeks and months after birth, she tends to feel off, depleted, anything but the self she knew before pregnancy and childbirth. Postpartum, she tends to emerge from labor and delivery feeling exhausted, uncertain, and full of questions, somewhat lost in an unfamiliar body, disoriented in this raw and very transformative new beginning. Her new life looks, sounds, and feels unfamiliar. She feels different. She is different. She is becoming an entirely new version of herself. For she too is born the moment her baby enters the world.
Second is the story of her baby. The newborn(s) enter the world and transition from a warm, cozy, comfortable, dark and loud environment in the womb to being birthed into a very bright world full of different loud noises, countless people and so many things to see and experience. This can easily be very overwhelming. Birth can be stressful, uncomfortable and in some situations, even traumatic.
Two blooms. One name.
How mothers and babies Bloom
When I am given the honor of nurturing a mother during her fourth trimester, she is blessed with the extra support for her mind, body, energy and spirit needs. This supportive nurturing allows her to fully rest and reset so she can transition into her new beginning transformed. Just like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, she gets to bloom into the new version of herself that she is becoming through her fourth trimester journey. I provide this by walking alongside her during this vulnerable time providing the essential trauma-informed nurturing, gentle, compassionate and intentional care that is needed for a smooth and full recovery. This journey we take together is mindfully crafted for each mother's unique journey through her fourth trimester season. The reason for this approach is so that by the time our work together is done, each mother feels like she has bloomed into her new role, body and life, regardless of whether it is her first or fifth child. Each birth, postpartum journey and every child will be a completely different experience

for every mother. Support is a must for every mother regardless of how many children she has. I intend for each mother I work with to emerge from her fourth trimester refreshed and ready for her new life experiences that are awaiting her. This is possible because she feels supported, empowered and inspired. Each mother emerges with a newfound trust in herself, knowing her baby and feeling confident caring for them both as they experience this new beginning together.
Through being gently nurtured and cared for by an extra pair of loving hands, each newborn is compassionately soothed and guided through their fourth trimester. The newborns I work with are helped to balance and align their circadian rhythm with the flow of day and night. Each baby also experiences sleep conditioning through mindful methods of sleep shaping. This typically prevents the need for sleep training. Through consistent routines before sleep, they learn when it is time to sleep. With the added benefits of a properly designed sleep setup and sleeping space, the baby is able to sleep soundly, resulting in the quantity and quality of rest required for their brain and body to grow and develop while they sleep. Growth and development occur only while babies are asleep. This is why adequate sleep is essential. The culmination of all these benefits along with many more results in a happier, more content infant. By the time our valuable and priceless time together has come to a close, my goal is for each baby to be thriving in every way, so that they too emerge fully bloomed and transformed.
I bring 19 years of experience as an in-home caregiver with a strong focus on infants and serving as a mother's helper. Throughout my childcare journey, I discovered my passion for empowering mothers during their vulnerable and transformative period following childbirth, alongside caring for their newborns.
My first experience with postpartum and newborn care began when I was just 19 years old. I worked as a nanny, mother's helper and household manager for a family navigating a high-risk pregnancy that led to a premature birth. When the baby was finally released from the NICU, he came home still requiring oxygen support and was still fed through a g-tube. This same family was also foster and adoptive parents. That experience changed the course of my life. This was the first of many experiences that put me on the path to becoming a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula.
In the years since, I've had the privilege of caring for a wide range of newborns and infants, including identical twins and other premature

babies. In 2016, I spent six months shadowing a birth doula. This experience deepened my understanding of the full journey families go through when welcoming new life into their lives. This transformative experience further confirmed my purpose. My passion is working with newborns, mothers, partners, surrogates, adoptive and foster parents during the vital fourth trimester season.
I provide a safe, respectful and private space for families of all kinds, including those in alternative relationship dynamics, as well as high-profile families who value discretion and trust above all else.
